So we finally jumped in the truck and headed north to Nebraska to visit our good friends the Calahan's. We had been threatening to do so for a long time. Lets face it, 18 hours in a car is tough.

So there we were, driving along when we came across a huge field of sunflowers. What a treat that was.

When Rebecca started nannying for the Callahans Stephanie was in third grade. Now she is all grown up and will be graduating from HS this May. My how the time fly's by!

The cooking was first class in Nebraska. Rebecca and I were never hungry

Another holy cow moment for Becca was seeing Katharine all ready for the Homecoming dance. She was in first grade when Rebecca met her.

Cynthia tried her best to keep us from getting a picture of her. This was the best we could do. Pouring seed or "chicken chow" we got to feed the chickens and the ducks. Good times

This is how I will always remember Dow. This was his couch and he would never let me forget it. Every time I came into the house he would run and sit on it then give me a "make my day" kind of look.

Stephen and I shooting trespassers off his land. Needless to say you could go several miles in either direction and still be on their property.

Another angle of the ranch. It really was beautiful there.

We spent a lot of time just hanging out, and it was the best time we could have had. Here Stephen and I are probably having a good time talking about politics.

If this picture had audio it would likely be laced with profanity as I had the unfortunate experience of a blowout on 2 week old tires!
