Canyoneering in June

So I get a call from my cousin Brian Farr inviting me do go down a new canyon that nobody really knows a lot about.  Knowing I could use a little adventure I started to get excited about such a trip.  Brain said that before I made my decision he wanted me to read about a group that got stuck in this same canyon and it took 2 rescue teams over 30 hours to get them out (even with a helicopter).  After reading about this unfortunate event I knew what I had to do.  I dug out all our life insurance policies and placed them  in a spot Becca would be sure to find them and started packing.

There were over 15 times we had to take the ropes out to get down.  Here was a rather long rappel that required we slip down a small hole in the rock.  It was really cool.

At first I was going to just wear a shorty wet suit and consider myself good.  With it being the middle of June I figured the water couldn't be too cold?  I was dead wrong.  Had I not had the full 7mm wetsuit that 40 something degree water would have made for a rough trip.  The guy on the right had a full wetsuit on but it was only 3mm thick.  There were many times I would be standing next to him and I could hear all his hardware rattling from all the shivering he was doing.

My cousin Brian making sure we get down safe

Boy was it good to be in the sun again!

It was a beautiful walk out
Special thanks to Brian and his friends for a great trip!

Fossil Springs Hike

I can't even remember the last time Becca and I did anything adventurous together.  This trip down Fossil Springs was well over due.  As soon as we were able to farm the kids off to the grandparents house off we went

 Starting out on top......

Gorgeous I know........The view was nice too...

Its hard to believe all this water shoots out of the ground about a third of a mile back

This was as far around the ledge I was going to get Becca to go.  She was not going to budge.  She gently reminded me of our 3 kids and that only one of us could die and it wasn't going to be her.  Sigh..

Good times

This part was pretty cool.  They call it the toilet bowl.  There is a large hole that you can swim under to get out, or you can try and pull yourself up by the red rope.

Well worth the trip!

Hunters kindergarden play

Ah yes, who could forget those wonderful plays that you did in elementary school.  We were very excited for Hunters first play and so was he.  It seemed like only yesterday his old man was going to the very same school, Johnson Elementary.  Just seeing the stage brought back memories of the 5th grade God Bless the USA program where I managed to throw up my entire dinner while singing in the front row in front of all the parents.....Good times!

Right off the bat the first thing we noticed was the AC was turned off.  It must have been 90 degrees in that gym.  This made Dad and Mason grumpy.

I was amazed with all the costumes.  Frogs, rabbits, ducks, flowers etc.  Hunter was a penguin.

Curse my camera and its lack of a good zoom.  That is him in the middle....

Curse amateur photographers who still don't understand you have to push the camera button half way down to focus BEFORE you snap it all the way down!

By the time we got to Hunter he had already rubbed most of the black off his nose.  He was sure a happy penguin.

Its a litte grainy but Hunters little dance was hilarious.

Introducing Mason Michael Fuller

Mason Michael Fuller was born on December 22, 2011.  He weighed in at 6 pounds 10 oz and 19 1/2 inches long.  Our biggest baby yet.  Because moms fluid was getting low he was evicted about a week and a half early.  Because Mason was pushed out on the second push it caused a minor complication.  He hadn't spent enough time going through the birth canal to push all the fluid out of his lungs.  The result was little Mason came out grunting trying to breathe. Though is sounded a little cute (think Tim the Tool Man Taylor grunting) the nurses sent him up to the Nic U for observation.  As you can see from the pic below as soon as we got there the grunting stopped, and Mason was very content chilling in the french fry heater

 Mom and baby did great!

Becca's Prego Pictures

Becca really wanted to get some pictures of this pregnancy before it was too late.  Rachel Collett took these for us.  As you can see, they turned out great!

During the process of taking pictures the topic came up of doing the splits.  Of course Rebecca had to try.........

Yep.....Even while pregnant she can still pull it off

A special shout out to Rachel who managed to get her in the day before she delivered baby Mason.

Halloween 2011

So this year the boys really had this whole Halloween candy thing down.  Hunter really wanted to be Spiderman and poor Tyler had to settle on Superman (Hunters hand-me-down).  The little pumpkin is their cousin Lincoln

Grandma swinging by before we head out

Our neighborhood has a HUGE block party with all kinds of stuff going on.  It was  a lot of fun

Riding in the truck......

A good indicator that it is time to go home is when we have to start carrying them
