Up in the Sky! Its a bird, Its a plane, NO ITS SUPERMAN!

This Halloween was much different than last year.  He figured out real quick if he holds his pumpkin out people would put candy in it.  He didn't say trick or treat, but he would say thanks each time someone put something in it.

Hunter and some of his cousins

Superman's brother perhaps?  Looks like he needs a shave.

Every neighborhood has that one neighbor that goes all out.  This one was no exception.  She was terrifying!  As you can see, Hunter wanted nothing to do with it.  Had his cousin Heston had a broom stick with him he likely would have put his pumpkin on the end of it....Just to keep his distance.

As you can see we went all out with Tyler costume this year.

Hunter's got a girlfriend.  Maybe his old man can teach him some moves?  Hey, they worked on his mother.

Tylers Baby Blessing

A great time was had by all.  Thanks to those who could make it.  Early church is tough to get to

He's Finally Here!

Ok so it is safe to say I have been neglecting our blog lately. I'll commit to doing a little better job of it. Many thanks to our loyal fans for encouraging me to get off my lazy butt to post something new.

As most of you know we added another boy to our family about 3 weeks ago. Tyler tipped the scales in at 6 lbs 6 ounces. I got the wake up at 2 am Sunday morning and an hour later we were sitting in the hospital with Becca measuring in at 3 cm. Four other ladies had bum rushed the place along with us so things were really busy around there. Around 3:30 I heard the most awful screaming I have ever heard! I thought for sure someone was getting her legs sawed off with a butter knife! Not able to control my curiosity and I went out to investigate. Nothing seemed too out of the ordinary when I found her. The way the nurses rolled their eyes when I looked at them pretty much confirmed my suspicion…..This lady was giving birth to an elephant! Upon returning to our little room I explained to Becca and my mother in law my findings. It was getting close to 4 am before they wheeled this lady past our room. We were a little annoyed as we had showed up before her! Lesson #1 Never make light of the pain you are in, it will put you to the back of the line.

It was just after 5 am before they got us into the room we would deliver in. By now the contractions were really getting strong and it was time to raise some hell about not getting an epidural yet. Lucky for me my mother-in-law has her black belt in such a thing. For good measure the nurse decided to measure Becca again. Her eyes got very big and I knew we were in for it. She said “your at a 10 + 1 STOP PUSHING! She ran out the door leaving us alone wondering what to do next. By now Becca was really in pain and I was really wondering if I was going to have to deliver this kid. By 5:45 the epidural doctor came in and started frantically trying to get it done as fast as possible. Lesson 2: Keep asking for epidural, even if you don’t need it. By the time he was done it really didn’t matter as it was time to push. By the end of the first contraction push Tyler was half way out, by the second he was completely out. It really was amazing….I’ve had bowel movements take longer than what it took for Becca to push him out!

Everything has been great so far with our little guy. We were out of the hospital after staying only 36 hours. Hunter is having a hard time not being at the top of the totem pole anymore, but we are working with him. Tyler is a very good eater, and so far has gained over a pound in a half! He just wants to eat all day, obviously wanting to take after his old man.

I’ll have pictures to post soon, I just wanted to get something up.

Good times down the canyon

I'm finally getting these pictures up of our trip down Salame creek. With last winter's heavy snows there was a ton of water going down the canyon. For those who were invited and didn't go you really missed out.
This is at the start of the canyon. As you can see there is a lot of water flowing this time of year.
Time to embrace the fact there is no way to stay dry in this canyon. My cousin tried to keep his pack dry for as long as he could (see him on the left?). He eventually gave up

This was an interesting picture......That driftwood in the back was way over our heads. I can't imagine one would live too long down there when the water is that high.

Nothing ......Just a cool picture

The look on my face says it all. The water was some of the coldest I have ever been in. Just why didn't I pee in my wetsuit you say? I tried that......Unfortunately my equipment doesn't work in cold conditions like that.

Just working our way down

Some of us striking a pose.

Water was crystal clear

No I am not signaling to turn right. Just getting ready to go down the slide.

Rappelling down the waterfall

I must admit I like rappelling down vs jumping

It's a.........

For those of you who haven't heard yet, Becca had her ultrasound the other day and we are having a boy! I'm excited over the thought of not having to completely redo the nursery in pink! Grandpa (who has by the way guessed the sex of all 5 of us kids and 4 grand kids correctly) is excited over another grandson for him to train for future sports contracts. That is how he plans on spending his retirement.
Now that we know its a boy we can start the name game. Much to the dismay of some, we do not plan on naming him Fisher, Gage, Coleman, or any outdoor name to go along with our first son's name Hunter. I don't want to be known as one of those parents that has some kind of weird theme to all their children's names. As Becca and I start narrowing them down we'll start posting them for feedback.

It is now time to act!

As most of you know, I have been a skinny guy almost all my life. I remember the days when I could sit down and eat a large pizza all by myself and not think twice about it. I am not too proud to report that I STILL can put down a whole pizza myself. My dad told me it would likely catch up to me when I got married. He was almost correct. I really didn't have any problems until our first child was on the way. Sympathy weight took on a whole new meaning for me. The good news was Becca was able to lose her weight and then some. The bad news for me was I went up from a size 34 to a 36 jeans. I was OK with this......I'd been a 34 for the last 9 or so years! It was time to embrace the married, fat and happy persona. Then all of a sudden, our second was on its way and the pounds started to pack on. Our cupboards were full of all kinds of tasty snacks. I even managed to find a few of Becca's "secret stashes" of candy and chocolates. It finally hit me in the temple when I had to sit through an agonizing 2 hour session with pants that were a size 36 and way too small! At that point I realized I had to do something and fast!
For the last month now I have been at it hard. I play basketball every Mon, Wed, and Fri mornings and I hit the gym every day on my lunch break. I've been doing cardo as if my life depended on it! I am happy to report that my size 36 pants are here to stay. They fit much better now. Just how much weight have I lost you ask? 2 measly pounds! Oh well.....I hear The Biggest Loser is having tryouts at Superstition Springs mall this month. I may just give them a call :-)

Here goes nothing!

I have been thinking about doing a blog for some time now so I guess today is as good of time as any to get this started. I figure because I do such a terrible job at keeping a journal, this blog will do just fine.

Christmas has come and gone and I miss it already. I was one of the first to get my Christmas lights up on my house, and one of the last to take everything down. Hunter absolutely loved opening his presents. At 21 months, it is more about the tearing of the wrapping paper than the presents themselves. Among his favorite gifts he got was his Tonka Dump Truck (of course), his electronic backhoe (very noisy) and his all time favorite, an electric toothbrush. The toothbrush really caught us by surprise. Good luck getting that back from him once he has it.

In other news we are happy to report the wife and I are expecting our 2nd child. Becca is about 2 1/2 months along right now. So far, she hasn't been as sick as she was with Hunter. It usually hits around the evening time, much to my dismay.
